Julya Rabinowich

Born in St. Petersburg, moved to Vienna in 1977, studied at the Department of Interpreting and Translation at the University of Vienna and at the University of Applied Art, specializing in Painting and Philosophy.

Has worked since 2006 as a simultaneous interpreter for sessions in psychotherapy and psychiatry with refugees.

Lives in Vienna, working as an author, playwright and painter.

Made her debut as a prose writer with spaltkopf (split head). (Edition Exil, 2008)
Herznovelle (Heart Story), Deuticke, 2011, is her second novel.
