Elisabeth Reichart
Born in Steyregg in Upper Austria on 19 November 1953.
Studied History and German in Salzburg and Vienna.
Awarded a Dr. phil. degree for her dissertation on the resistance to National Socialism in the Salzkammergut district.
Since 1982 free-lance writer of novels, stories and plays.
Editor of the anthology Österreichische Dichterinnen (Austrian Women Poets), published by Otto Müller in 1993.
Lives in Vienna.
Prizes and awards include:

1989 State Scholarship of the BMUK (Austrian Federal Ministry of Education and the Arts)
1993 Literature Award of the BMUK
1999 Robert Musil Scholarship
2000 Anton Wildgans Prize
