[ book tip by Michael Boyle ] "People tend to resist fundamental change because the ego of the individual fears that changing what she does is a threat to who she is and whether she will continue to exist"

Never a truer statement was made, and it is worth contemplating a review of this saying daily to keep ones perspective on track!

Here is another great quote...

"Management just opens the door, shovels in assignments willy-nilly without regard for the recipient's 'time horizon,' and then wonders why the furnace's combustion levels often don't meet expectations."

and now to the concept...

The world is made up of carps (victims) and sharks (attacker), and Strategy of the Dolphin describes the path of the dolphin (who protects herself, is more intelligent about approach, intentions, strategy).

In spite of the book showing its age at times, the predictions (without knowing about the internet and co.) were uncannily on the mark.

The empirical justification to prove the validity of very sound ideas became a bit tiring at times. I found myself just breezing through the diagrams.

Otherwise, the book is right on the mark and is to be recommended.

[ Favourite quote ] "When people are free to do as they please, they usually imitate each other", Erich Hofer

A fundamental difference between dolphins and their fellow sojourners in "the pool" is that dolphins understand the importance of knowing what their purpose in life is and whether at any given time they are on purpose, and carps and sharks often do not.
