[ book tip by Sarah Grout ] Beautifully captures that moment where you are not quite a child and where you are not quite an adult and your actions can be forgiven for inexperince. Cassandra is a vivid, charming and at times deceptive narrator who enchants both the other characters and the reader. Never a dull moment, despite the journal nature of the story-telling and the fact that the story never traversed farther than a few miles. I especially enjoyed the ending - it seemed to sum up how life becomes as you get older: mysterious, unnerving, disappointing yet full of hope.
