A graduate of Cambridge University with a Masters in Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia, I am an avid reader of fiction. I now work as a freelance editor and writer and am on the editorial team for readme.cc. Literary heroes include Thomas Hardy, Vladimir Nabokov, Virgina Woolf, Philip Roth and John Wilmot, Second Earl of Rochester.

I am interested in writing that gives the reader something back for the time and energy he or she invests in it. In this increasingly busy world, it is a big thing to ask someone to spend three or four hours of their time reading another person's words. Writers have a duty to make sure that that time is not wasted and critics must hold them to account.
