[ Buchtipp von Tarik Bary ] Max Reinhart is a theater director. He was born in late nineteenth century and died in the middle of the twentieth century. He contributed a lot to theater in German speaking nations in particular and in the whole world in general. He took the burden of spreading theater culture and love in spite of hardships, mainly among which is the lack of electricity.
When electricity was discovered in his age, Reinhart took the chance. He introduced new techniques which were peculiar to theater at that time. He introduced the wheels which helped change scenes on the stage.
The German speaking director also introduced the audience to all genres of drama such as comedy, tragedy, melodrama and monodrama. He also introduced the audience to Shakespeare in a different way. Reinhart staged drama from all ages and from almost all parts of the world.
This book reviews Reinhart's relationship to the new schools that appeared during his life time such as impressionistic realism and expressionism. It also shows how he dealt with the Baroque scenes. In the end of the book, the author relates how Max Reinhart dedicated all his life to theatre. He used to spend 18 hours per day there. He also used to direct more than 20 plays per year.
To conclude, "Max Reinhart" is a good read for theater lovers and drama readers, while Max Reinhart, the man, is a good example to follow for those who would take their life seriously.
