Die Belagerung Sarajevos war Thema seines in zehn Sprachen übersetzten «Tagebuch der Aussiedlung» und seiner letzten Romane «Schahrijars Ring» und «Sara und Serafina». Er lebt in Graz und Sarajevo. Als Hommage an Goethes «West-östlichen Diwan» begründet Karahasan die gleichnamige Themenbibliothek und fordert zur Erweiterung auf. Dževad Karahasan vit à Graz et à Sarajevo. En hommage au «Divan occidental-oriental» de Goethe, Karahasan fonde une bibliothèque thématique du même nom et invite à la compléter. The siege of Sarajevo was the topic of his «Diary of Resettlement», which has been translated into ten languages, and of his last novels, «Schahrijar’s Ring» and «Sara and Serafina». He now lives in Graz and Sarajevo. In homage of Goethe’s «West-East Divan», Karahasan has launched a theme library of the same name, and invites others to add to it. Nécessairement, les livres correspondent à d’autres livres, et ce, souvent sans intention de l’auteur, simple résultat d’une certaine vision du monde. Books inevitably correspond to other books – often without the author’s intention, out of a certain experience of the world. That is what this library should be about.»
